Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers for setting up a household and using MyRoutiq's shared workflows.

What is MyRoutiq for?

MyRoutiq is a private household workspace for an Employer and Helper. It keeps daily tasks, shopping, rest days, pay records, recipes, house rules, home guides, chat, translations, notifications, and Care Points in one place.

How do an Employer and Helper join the same household?

The Employer creates a household and generates an invitation code in Profile. The Helper signs in with the Helper role, enters that code, confirms the household name, and then both sides verify the membership in Profile > Family Members. Keep invitation codes private and never post them publicly.

Can a Helper belong to more than one household?

No. A Helper can belong to one current household at a time. To join another household, the Helper must first leave the current one or be removed by the Employer, then use the new household's invitation code.

How do tasks and task photos work?

An Employer can create Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or One-time tasks with notes, links, a Home Guide, and up to three reference photos. If completion photos are required, the Helper can upload up to three photos when marking the task complete, and both sides can review them in the task details.

How is the shopping workflow different for Employers and Helpers?

An Employer-created item goes directly to Pending buy. A Helper-created item remains Pending approval until the Employer approves or rejects it. Once approved, it becomes Pending buy; the Helper can mark it Purchased, while the Employer can cancel it. Purchased and Cancelled records remain in monthly history.

How do rest-day and replacement-rest-day requests work?

A Helper submits a request with a date and optional note. The Employer can approve or reject it with a note. For a replacement rest day, the Helper selects a new date and an existing holiday to replace; the dates must differ, and approval synchronizes the change to the calendar.

What happens after a pay record is signed?

The Employer creates the monthly pay record and the Helper signs it by hand. After signing, the record is locked and neither side can edit it. A pay record documents information entered in MyRoutiq; it does not prove that payment occurred or replace a legal document. If household membership ends, associated pay records may be permanently deleted after the in-app warning is confirmed.

Which languages does MyRoutiq support, and is translation always exact?

The app and website support English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Indonesian, Malay, Burmese, and Filipino. User-generated text can be machine translated, but names, dialects, abbreviations, and sensitive instructions may be imperfect. Check the original and confirm important details directly with the other person whenever meaning is uncertain.

Which notifications will each person receive?

Helpers can receive daily task reminders and decisions about shopping, rest days, and pay records. Employers receive action-focused updates, such as a Helper completing a task or submitting a request. Shopping, rest-day, pay-record, and chat notifications can open the related record when a deep link is available. Delivery also depends on device permission, connectivity, and operating-system settings.

How can an Employer remove a Helper, or a Helper leave the household?

The Employer can remove a Helper from Profile > Family Members, and the Helper can leave the current household from the same area. Read the confirmation carefully: access ends immediately and associated pay records may be permanently deleted and cannot be restored. Leaving a household does not delete the user's MyRoutiq account; account deletion is a separate action.

Need a little more guidance?
